Picasso’s “Dora Maar au Chat” is another valuable piece, fetching a price of $95.2 million in 2006. The painting is a portrait of Dora Maar, a French photographer who served as a muse and lover to Picasso, and features her sitting in a chair with a black cat on her shoulder. The piece is notable for its use of Cubism, a style of art that Picasso pioneered.
